Our internal lunchtime solution to evolving professionally and creatively (are they the same thing?) is: read, visit, watch, experience and discuss everything related to culture, business, technology, etc. Impossible to do, but a worthy goal. Too much info, too many choices and never enough time requires a fairly strong filter to weed out the bad and meaningless. But sometimes it is necessary to let in a few new things from outside of our comfort zone: go to the opera, read the entire New Yorker article, visit Tokyo. As designers it is all about the experience. It's a big world out there – we should try to understand it. Or at least increase our exposure from time to time.
